The New Slave to Release First Single From New Album

On March 23, 2010, The New Slave will release the first single off of their upcoming album "Forget Progress, Return to Instinct".

The single "1975" will feature two mixes of the lead track; the first mix is by Chris Cline (credits include ...Trail of Dead, Explosions in the Sky, and Scrabbel among others), followed by the album version. There will also be two non-album b-sides: "Hex" and "Trigger Happy".

The band will celebrate the release on 3/27/10 as they open up for Tobacco (of Black Moth Super Rainbow) and The Hood Internet at Bottom of the Hill (SF). They will be giving away 50 free copies of the single, including a bonus track titled "Mendo Mayhem". The band will follow up their release with a supporting slot on 5/10/10 at The Independent (SF) with The Besnard Lakes (Jagjaguwar).

1) We will be on Pirate Cat Radio tomorrow, Monday January 11, at 9am Pacific time. Listen online or Stop by the Cafe at 21st and Florida and have coffee and pastries with us.

2) We will be playing at El Rio this Wednesday January 13, with Blood and Sunshine and Makeing Tents. WE GO ON FIRST AT 8pm SHARP. Entire show ends by 11. How's that for a school night? PLUS, the fabulous Lauren Wooley will be joining us on drums. We've been having a blast practicing with her all weekend AND Wednesday is her birthday-- we are honored to be able to share it with her.
